Call for Papers

 

The conference calls for research from the fields of English studies, including literature, cultural studies, linguistics, TESOL, translation, and beyond. Special attention might be given to the dialogue between literature and teaching. We especially welcome the scholarly exchange between Asian and Western experts.

 

1. Scholars, professors, teachers, and graduates and students of Department of English, Department of Applied English, or Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures are all welcome.

 

1. Areas of interest may include, but are not limited to, the following topics:

1. Studies of English and American Literature
2. Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature
3. Theories and Practices of Multimedia
4. Linguistics and Language Learning
5. TESOL
6. English Teacher Education and Professional Development
7. Literature and Teaching
8. Visual Culture and Film Studies
9. Theories and Practices of Translation
10. Interdisciplinary Research on Literature and Teaching

 

1. The conference includes oral presentation, poster presentation, and workshop.

 

1. Please send your proposal to ices2021@gms.ndhu.edu.tw, entitled “AUTHOR’S NAME_ICES2021_PROPOSAL”_TOPIC CATEGORY, by 31 July 2021. Each paper presenter should provide the following information:

1. Paper title
2. Paper abstract (around 250 words and up to 5 key words)
3. Full name
4. Current affiliation
5. Title of the author
6. Email address
7. Telephone number
8. Postal address

1. Notes:

1. The length of each presentation will be 20 minutes.
2. Presentations can be done in either English or Chinese. Please write your abstract in the language in which you intend to do your presentation.
3. Due to the uncertainty of the global pandemic, international presenters will do prerecorded or online presentations.

The files should be prepared in Word format and submitted by email to ices2021@gms.ndhu.edu.tw.

 

1. Abstract

1. The abstract should be around 250 words and include the title and up to 5 keywords.
2. The abstract should follow either MLA or APA style.
3. The abstract should be double-spaced and typeset in 12-point Times New Roman.
4. Use A4 paper, and leave one-inch margins at the top and bottom and on both sides of the text.

 

1. Full Paper

1. The paper should be 8,000 words maximum in length, including discursive notes and bibliographical information.
2. Submit the paper along with a 250-word abstract and up to 5 keywords.
3. The paper should follow either MLA or APA style.
4. The paper should be double-spaced and typeset in 12-point Times New Roman.
5. Use A4 paper, and leave one-inch margins at the top and bottom and on both sides of the text.
